Wong #1: Be A Successful Teacher

"You are good at what you do, but are you successful?" This had struck me the most in the lecture of Dr. Wong about The Effective Teacher. It left an impact on me because personally, I've met teachers that are good at what they do but they are not successful. They are not effective teachers because they merely transmit information from books, they read power point presentation, worst- they just give activities that sometimes are not related to our subject. It's disappointing, but it is really happening in reality. Seeing this one, as a future teacher, it's a challenge that I should be good, effective and successful teacher in the field. How's that? I should apply the tips of Dr. Wong by being a good classroom manager, designing a lesson to reach mastery and by having a positive expectation that my students will be successful. Teaching then, will not be just be survival rather you will have an impact on the lives of your students. Then you'll know you serve your purpose as a teacher and become a successful one. So future teachers let's aim and be successful teachers!

  1. I think we have a very similar experience towards unsuccessful teachers so I hope we can strive to become successful ones and not mere good ones. Good luck!
